Brides who plan to book their reception at the Mandarin Oriental, New York can throw away their costume jewelry!

Mandarin Oriental, NY is now teaming with the jeweler Lockes Diamantaires, to allow those special brides to borrow sparkling pieces for the day at no charge.  I was not able to find any links to this on either site, but instead received my information from the new magazine "Travel+Romance".

Of course, the difficult part of the arrangement is that you'll have to return those borrowed jewels at the end of the day. . .

The true princess won't be able to turn down a chance to wear one of Thomas Knoell's handcrafted tiaras on her own wedding day.  There are plenty of designs available on his website, and if you can't find your perfect tiara, he creates custom tiaras as well.

In addition to the beautiful tiaras, he also offers decorative hair combs, hair jewelry, and earrings, necklaces, etc.

Not one to put much thought into the bridal garter, I was extremely pleased to find the monogrammed silk garter at Angel Threads in NYC.  This is no cheap concoction of elastic and scratchy netting.  The silk is quality and the monogram and wedding date are hand-sewn onto your garter.

My only misgiving is that the blue is a bit too grey for my taste.  When I received my own garter it was a bit more grey than the picture suggests . . . but it was still a keeper!  In hindsight the white or ivory would have been a better bet.

Just make sure you have one of the more generic garters on hand for the reception toss . . .you'll want to hold on to this one!
